Fall Away on FXSTC
Ok, had some front end work done and I've got one hell of a wobble. Brought it back to my indy and he tightned up the fork nut on top and the adjusting nut underneath. It didn't solve the problem so I decided to check the spokes as I had some loose spokes the last time this happend. Well, got the front end off the ground and I noticed no fall away. The manual says to loosen the fork pinch bolts, yet they aren't shown on the blow-up of the front end. So, what the heck are fork pinch bolts and does anyone have a pic? I'm thinking, as common sense would tell me, they're referring to the top nut and adjustment nut.
Here's a recent thread on the subject. On my Heritage the clutch and brake cables interfere too much and have to be disconnected in order to get an accurate "reading".
On my bike there are 3 pinch bolts. One at the steering head (allen) and two in front of the forks under the cover.
Good luck
