I think at 350 pounds the OP can pull off the front only drop. There isnt much weight on that stock front end and the bike is chopper-ish to begin with.
I say the OP drops the front 1.5" using the progressive kit and the bike will look dern close to level more so when his big *** gets on board!
Go for it OP....The worst thing that could happen is that you hate it, re-install the stock springs and easily sling the unwanted drop kit in the HDF classifieds for $20.00 less than it cost you off Flea bay.
Sheeet, been surfing forums for at least 8-10 yrs and I never would have figured that out. I guess I was hoping it was going to be a term of endearment from Chazmanian. Thanks for the tip.
Cheesecake is correct. "it will quicken your steering and high speed stability.... so you have o be careful.... "
Rake froward and more weight is on the front wheel for more traction in corners and on braking. You are also slightly reducing the rake and trail which this bike has way too much of. *** far as being careful there is no way you can rake that thing enough or shorten the trail without cutting the neck to change head rake.
another option you can do is having a race tech suspension kit installed. These kits come with the necessary hardware to lower the front end 1" or 2" or leave stock. The Race Tech kit will improve the action of the stock forks and help to soak up the bumps alot better.

So if I'm reading that right...If were to install just the front lowering springs I will be slightly reducing rake & trail which will improve my front end traction under cornering and braking??

Actually the racetech stuff with the gold emulators (say that like marvin the Martian it's funny chit) was the kit I was looking at putting in there. The ultimate for me would be a set of the ceriani/storz 55mm inverted forks or the forks that Fast Harley pushes, but I don't have the coin for a trick front end like that.
