Sorry for not updating. Too many irons in the fire.

I just got a couple of small "toolbags" in, with the idea of mounting them on each side of the passenger seat to fill in the "goofy gap".

It's really the wife's scoot, and she normally rides with the FXCW (factory solo seat), so I'll need to wait until we ride double again and put the FXCWC seat back on to mock things up and provide some feedback on how his works out. The picture looks good in my head, but that's all I know right now.

Regarding the two-minute mount bolt-on passenger seat that will work with solo stock or aftermarket seats, my next step is to find a local waterjet place to cut out some parts. Still, with some money and time invested, there's a good chance of coming up short in the visual department.

I think the Rocker is a really good platform which is 90% of the way there, but there are one or two things which are really difficult to work out when one includes both practical and styling perspectives.

Mounted them today on the fabricated larger passenger seat with a small backrest (passenger seat goes on and off pretty much like the stock one). The appearance ain't nirvana, but so far, me and the wife think it's a huge improvement over stock. It ain’t as sexy as a Heartland conversion, but it retains full ride height and suspension travel for those who don’t want to ride a rigid, and don’t want to pussyfoot around corners. And it’s about $2000 cheaper. Will try to post some photos tomorrow.

After looking into this a bit, I'm thinking that the FXCW passenger seat struts may be a cheaper way to go. Yeah, they look goofy, but filling in the gap with small bags might work OK on that too.

Harley FXCW passenger struts and seat shown below:
Make a wider seat for those struts, and the seat wouldn't need to be so thick. Could almost fit flush with the top of the struts.

Well…………..
I think this is an improvement over stock, but it’s certainly not anything I’m going to have wet dreams about! What do you think? Keep in mind that it was a goal to keep full suspension travel, and not lower the bike. And I realize there are lots of things which need to be cleaned up and prettied up…. this is basically just a “proof of concept” exercise.

That is also great idea and it looks good and functional on your bike! You hide that clearance between fender and seat with two small bags and now you have extra storage for few cans of beer... Great !!!
I'am not fan of lowering, especially this bike. Than bike becomes something else... concept of the bike is not the same as on the original Rocker/Rocker-C. That bike looks great as a solo-seat bike and in case of need you can convert it in minute for two up-riding. That is advantage from all other bikes (you have two in one). I think that is the main point and improved comfort of your passenger!
Regards, Kris.

Easton,

Where did you get your sissy bar from? The one on bitchinseats.com is $499... pretty steep for something so simple. Thanks!
