I have had the guage replaced 4 times and the gas cap replaced 3 times. I love the flush look, so I'm will to put up with the crappy quality of these pieces-it's the only H-D part I have ever gotten that was sub par quality
my guage LED's on my latest replacement have lastest about 6 months so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
yesterday my flush gas cap fell apart......again......dealer says they can't get it warranty replaced any longer. I can't believe they have not had a recall on these...
has anyone ever put the flush mount gas cap back together? it looks like it should just snap back together, but I can't make the pieces interlock properly....
I know my buddy had the LED cap. His failed a couple times from getting wet. I believe he took the LED side apart and siliconed the circuit board / waterproofed it and reassembled. I don't belive he had any trouble with the gas side though.
I have had the same thing happen to my gas cap. It looks like it should snap back together but it doesnt. i have one I was going to try to epoxy tthe bottom on to hold it together but have not done it yet.
i have 2 pair one on fat boy and one on rocker no problems for a year. How did yours break. I think if you try to really make the gas cap flush turning to much it will break off its only plastic. Dealer says some or more flush fitting than others so when its tight quit turning the cap thats all i can think is happening here
I bit for a set of them, hope to get them on soon. I've heard most issues with them is from overtightening them. As far as the LEDS go not a big deal as my fuel guage is not that good anyway. The fuel light goes on and it only takes 3.5 gals to fill it up.
