This question is for the few people I see already own an 05 Deluxe or anyone else who knows.
What is the difference between the regular spoked rims on the Deluxe and the profiled rims? I can't really see the difference on the Harley website. Do the profiled rims look better?
The profile rims are not stepped like the regular rims. They are just a smooth arc. This dosn't explain it very good, but it's the best I can do at this time of day. As soon as you see them the difference will be apparent.
I think I follow you. I will use the same concept as chrome rims on cars/trucks. It's gotta be the same. Unfortunately I have to order this bike based on the pictures I've seen. I haven't seen or sat on it personally. But at over (at least) $2,000 cheaper; I can't beat the advantage of ordering it here. If there were a Harley dealership here in Iraq----I would be there sitting on this bike
I have the regular spoked rims and a friend has the profile on his deluxe..it all comes down to looks and $275 when ordering the bike. Some dealers will change them out from another if you request. I agree with cougar it is totally retro.
I have the smooth wheels and the look is nicer. I don't know that it is $275 nicer and if I don't point out the difference when standing next to a regular, you most likely would not see the difference. The smooth is a rounded chrome look (without any raised ridges on the rim).
