Default Going Ape

I decided to put apes on my 2006 softail standard and am looking for some advice. I have narrowed it down to either 12.5 inch wild ones or 14 inch wild ones. I have sat on bikes with both, but am still not sure. Anyone out there running these bars please let me know your opinons. By the way I 5'10 for whatever thats worth. How much to get them installed?

Very expensive to get them installed at the dealer. Probably about $400-$500 labor.

I like 1 inch bars on a front end like yours. The 1 1/4 bars are too wide in the center. Go 14 I am 5 10. 12.5 are short they will be under your shoulder, but in most States that would be street legal (not over your shoulders.) 14 is really comfy, 18 at most.

With the Wild 1's they are very square, the one inch bars drop down at the handle (which is what they are supposed to look like) Wild 1's 16's are the tallest for a comfort zone for 5 10 One inch bars u can go higher.

Greetings,

Find a good indy near you...I'm having a local indy put 16" apes on mine and with all the parts, stainless steel cables, and installation it's going to run $494, including sales tax.
