Don't get me wrong, it looks sharp and sounds great when you crank the throttle, but it won't do squat for adding power. The "velocity stack" that it has might make a difference on a big inch, high horsepower motor, but for a stock engine, you'll get nothing out of it.
I have the Doherty kit and Love it. If you understand the whole theory behind velocity stacks you would want to buy it. If you are looking for an air cleaner for good looks then look elsewhere. The Dogherty Cleaner is built for performance.
I believe the the Power Pacc has the largest internal velocity stack.
I will add that the Power Pak and RB Racing 2-1 pipe on my stock 88ci motor gave me 77.25 hp when dyno'd with the SERT. Not too bad since no work had ever been done to the motor.
There's before and after. The before was with the SE intake, Python pipes, and the dealer Stage 1 download. After is with the Doherty, a D&D Low Cat, and a TTS MasterTune.
As you can see, the bulk of the gains were in the midrange, which is going to be a function of the tune and the pipe. The additional airflow isn't doing a thing at 3500RPM.
