Got my shorty stand on the bike and with my 2" front drop and 2.25 rear this thing is priceless. I was literally watching my bike through windows of the various establishments I frequent waiting for a gust of wind to straight blow it over.
Not any more. It actually leans over and is stable.
I went with a cheap Flea-Bizzle one and its actually pretty derned cool.
dont go to cheap. Had one brake when I was younger..
I was resting on bike at our local drive in food joint, laid back with feet on the bars, had K-Q seat then, really cool.
heard a SNAP and next thing I know I'am laying against the bike next to me.
Hmmmm.... I gave that some thought and bought the one that uses the factory hardware. The only thing I replaced was the actual metal rod. I compared it to my stocker and it was almost identicle.
But you are 100% correct and I should have made it clear that using a BK rider sooper cheapo that has all the hardware included for under $50.00? Is a big league mistake!!
This is no good and should be absolutely avoided.
This is good and is using my factory assembly and only replacing this rod...I'm good with that:
i was taught along time ago just leave it in gear when i park, then its very hard to tip over if the kickstand is fully deployed
I recently learned that slammed Softail could care less if its in gear or not when the stock kickstand stands the bike literally straight up and down!!
Needless to say....Slam Bike? Buy shorter kickstand!
