Installed HD oil cooler on FLSTC
If you do it first toss hose clamps they provide.
Second go to Lowes or HD and get a grade 8 3 inch long bolt with a 7/16th head on it and two nuts to fit it.
You will not beable to find an allen driver to torge down replacement center piece in that size. 3/8th and 1/2 inch but not 7/16th.
Put the 2 nuts on the bolt and use the head as the driver and torge it to 16ftLb.
Have some ATV handy to help hold gasket in place or it will slip down and get caught under the flange and get bent. 3 small spots will do.
Put the hoses on cooler first then mount cooler to frame(this is the fun part because if you have stubby fingers you may need to brib your 10 year old to take a time out from the PSIII to help you).
Also try to locate clamps so that you can tighten them last. Watch the bottom ones because you have a filter going in there at the end and theres not much clearance there.
And use a black filter now instead of the chrome, your not going to beable to see the filter with exception of the end so why spend 8 extra bucks. And amazingly enough that filter cap driver now fits instead of hitting the ceter flange on the motor.
It now uses 2 3/4 quarts of oil to get 2/3 dip stick.
Also let it warm up alot because when the thermostat opens the cooler will fill with the extra oil.
Jeez I remember when you'd go to a junk yard and find a wrecked Lincoln or LTD and scavenge the power sterring cooler and use that for a cooler. How times have changed.
