yes, it could break if you go offroading. I don't see a problem there, true BS.

Are the HD spoked wheels more expensive then billet or vise versa? Maybe he was trying to sell you more expensive wheels, only thing I can think of.

While were on this subject, what are the best 80 spoke wheels for the money for a 06 Deluxe?

I am on my second set. The only time you may run into problems with spoked wheels on the rear is if you run radial laced on heavier bikes, or giant motor builds.

You are supposed to check each spoke for correct torque about every 5000 miles. I bough a spoke torque wrench for my spoke wheels. I guess if you never maintain them, they can become very loose and in extreme cases break or collapse.
