I have a 1993 heritage softail FLSTN would like to know if anyone has any
experience in putting on hard bags from other years of harleys without
to much modification, thinking about getting some hard bags from an
older sportster, like the small compact look, any suggestions or comments?
thanks!
not sure about softails from that year, I know that the mounting for the vendors were different then, making it hard for removable sissybars and so forth.
I know that at least for the 09 maybe even 08 there is now an adapter kit to mount the road king (both leather and hard case) bags to a softail. (sorry can't remember any details of this kit at the moment)
Check out the sumax site. I am researching this a friend too. Cycle Visions makes the Bagger tail for softails, but it is not a quick detach and looks rather imposing in my opinion. http://www.sumax.com/Bags%20Softail.htm
aThe link for their brackets is near the bottom of the page.
Yeah you are right to much bracket for me too. The sportster bags I am getting
are small a compact and I believe will only need the two top bolts to attach to
the detachable side plate..
