My Daughter-In-Law has finally started riding with my son on his
Fatboy and of course the first time she rode on the back she melted her boots on the exhaust. I want to put floorboards on for her and was wondering what floorboards would be best. Would like to know what everybody is using and what they run in price.
I have the HD floorboards with chrome pans. My wife likes them, but still feels vibration. She seems to think they are very comfortable. I do not know because I do not ride back there.
They do look better than the Kuryakyn broads. I have seem several of them, and they look cheap in my opinion.
The downside is they stick out really far and are very noticeable on a Fatboy. Look in my album, there is a picture of the bike from the rear.
Myself, I think the HD ones are the best choice, but pegs look better.
Some guy has a set for sale on here for 200 or 250, with the pans I think is a good price.
I agree with tlb... HD passenger boards work well and look good imo. I don't remember exactly how much they run but I think they were less then $300 including the chrome covers of which they have several styles to choose from. Here's a couple of pics how they look on my Springer Classic...

Train her to keep her feet on the pegs! J/K
We are working on passenger pegs extensions for softails to help eliminate this problem for a lower price than the boards, but we all know Mama's comfort is pretty much number one.
HD floorboards that match the rider floorboards. That would be my vote. You will need the kit to mount them. easy and simple to do. Then you will need to decide if you want covers for them or not
Here is another idea. I put these on my Fatboy. They have heel guards on them and they are under $200. They are direct replacements for the stock pegs. http://bootdr.com/
Have seen some on EBAY that fit the Fatboy peg mounts. They come with different extensions too. Have not seen them or used them but might get a pair. Around $100.
Keep checking Ebay, you may find a deal. Check out my pic album, I put some on my Deluxe. I did however do some "custom" fab work to them. I cut down the mounting brackets so they didn't stick out so far.
