Default open primary on 08 softail?

Anyone here have an 07-09 softail with an open primary? BDL has one as with a few other companies. Any pics of forum bikes with one? Problems or advice on it?

I would not want that as a friend has his jeans sucked into his open primary and it nearly broke his leg. When he told me what happened it changed my tune real quick.

Just installed an open primary on my 06 and it works perfectly. About pants getting caught just make sure you have a good belt guard. No worries

What are the advantages of an Open Primary ? Is it just for the look?

Not sure if it's an advantage but it allows you to run a primary belt.

For me its either the belt drive or custom wheels. Spokes look great but are a pain. PM belt drive is the nicest one but for 3 grand I don't think so. I have heard mixed reviews from builders about open primarys.

My own personal opinion is that open primaries are for guys trying really hard to look cool.

They do look cool but the pita for me isn't worth it. Your mileage may vary.
