+1 or whatever on not being the best looking. I did take mine off and went to a Mustang 17" wide solo seat with rider backrest. I also added the Mustang pillion seat though nobody has been on it long enugh to give me an objective opinion.

I have a bad back and the Sundowner did not have the adjustable backrest that the Mustang has. 200 miles was about all I was good for on any given day. My back no longer bothers me at all even on 350 mile days.

The Sundowner did lower me quite a bit which I like better than the Mustang. I've gotten many more compliments on my bike since I went to the Mustang solo with the fender pad than I did with the Sundowner.

Seats are a personal thing and see if you can borrow one for a long ride and see if it works for you. A person can spend quite a bit of money trying to find the perfect seat.

i'm beginning to think that harley designs their stock seats to be uncomfortable for a reason. so we have to go back to them to get an accesory seat which is more comfortable. they're pretty smart in their marketing. another example. a 103 would cost as much to produce as the 96, but they make tons converting the 96's to 103's. hmm, go figure.

I agree with you! Very comfortable, just looks horrible and after a week or so I tried going back to the Badlander, didnt even make it 20 minutes before I missed my big couch seat (Sundowner). It looks horrible on there, so I throw the upright sissy bar to make it look a little better.

I use the Sundowner seat when my wife rides with me. It's really comfortable! BUT, it's super big and ugly. I hate the way it looks on my Night Train. When I'm riding without a passenger I'm on my badlands seat. If your looking for JUST comfort, you won't regret it.

To whoever said it lowers his seat height...that differs model to model. On my deuce it definately RAISES seat height.

+1 on that. the Sundowner on my 05 Fatboy raises me up an inch or two. but it's the most comfortable seat I have even used.

I have the Sundowner deep bucket seat on my '07 FatBoy, and it's definitely a better seat than the stocker. There are probably more comfortable seats out there, but I really liked the fact that I could keep the FatBoy styling, which is why I purchased it. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the seat, but if you're wanting the most comfortable seat available, you might be better served with something else.

I have the Sundowner on my Deuce and it is good. Better than the stock setup for me but not allot better where it shines is for my wife she said it is a huge improvement over the stock seat. I got her the touring back rest and I never here her say lets stop my butt hurts anymore.
