Ok I know the XiED has been talked about before, but I want to know if anyone has been using them for a long time.
I have been using the XiED for about a 6 months now with no issues. I have a K&N air filter and V&H true duals. Bike does not run hot (other than normal) and the plugs look good so I am fairly sure I am not running lean or rich. I do not plan on making any more performance mods so I saw no need for a turner.
Is anyone else using this device for any period of time and if so are you having good success as well. Has anyone had any issue with this device failing? If so what and were there anything I need to be looking out for? I know some use them for a while and then move to a cert or tuner. I am curious if anyone has used them for a sometime now with any issues.
Thanks

I've been using the regular IEDs (not XiED) for over a year w/o problem. They do what they're supposed to, and since they have no moving parts (and assuming you installed them away from any exhaust heat source), I don't see them failing.
How is your MPG doing? I have read that is a problem with XIEDs.
Same here. I have not noticed much on the MPG but hell I ride as much as I can cuz my other source of transportation is a F250 V10 with 4.30 rear. I get 10 mpg in it so I do not balk at losing a few on the bike.
I've onlly had mine on for about 1000 miles with no problems running with Rush 2" baffle slip-ons. I just went to the SE stage 1 intake so we will see on that.
this is probably not a good idea but, The only way I can check the temp is to tap the mufflers and heat sheild close to the motor just after shutting the engine off after an hour ride with a bare hand. No burns then I'm good. I can just about grab the end where the exaust comes out.
Anyone out there,,, does this seem cool enough to you? ,,,,, did this just today and it is 86 outside. (mix of 65 on county highway in 5th and back through town with trafic lghts) I know I've burned my hands just bumping an oven pan at 350 degF
forgot MPG today was 47MPG

No I can honestly say your freakin crazy! Touch a muffler or heat shield after an hour ride...crazy.

I had them on my bike last year and they work great. I lost maybe 1-2 mpg if that, I had shortshots and an SE air filter assy. If one ever fails you would get an eng light on as the O2 would have an open circut. For the money you can't beat them. IMO
I put them on at 6000 miles, I now have over 12,000. Running Rush 1.75 slip-on's and K&N filter in the stock box. No stage 1 download (but I think my dealer did a little something to her at the 1000 mile service, can't swear to it, but it just "smelled different).
No problems, mileage varies between 43 to 49 mpg, depending on how I'm riding. Back and forth to work everyday, and crankin' on the weekends.
Matter of fact, I swear it runs a little better everyday.
Can't wait to get on her tomorrow and see what happens!
