i am looking for a new tank emblem and i really like the one on the 1996 heritage (see attached). the local dealer told me that it's protected and i have to trade in old ones to get these. anyone know how i can order them without trading any in? anyone have some to sell? anyone know the part number? i like the one with the red circle inside. thanks

I have never heard of anything like that 'trade in' business before.
If you can find the part number for them I'm sure you can get them, trade in free, from one of the online ordering houses like Chicago HD or Zenotti's.
They will also sell them to you at a fair discount to boot.
And don't forget to check out evil-bay. Nobody gives a rat's rear end about no 'stinking badge' trade in's there and you might get lucky and find a pair real cheap.
PS I think if you check around you'll find that emblem was also used on Fatboy's, maybe more recently than 96.

it does look like the fatboy emblem, but from what i have researched and seen the fatboy emblems were decals, not stand-alone metal emblems. the only bikes i can find that have it are the heritage softails from around 1995-1997ish, and there aren't any offered on ebay right now. i don't know what the part number is either. any info would be awesome guys/gals
