Default QR Backrest/Relocate

Does anyone know if you have to relocate the rear directionals when utilizing a quick release backrest on a Fatboy?
Also, can you use a layedback license plate frame with a luggage rack on a quick release backrest?
Thanks,
REM27

I installed mine without relocating the lights, if you do a search it should show you what you need to do. It works very well. I'll see if I have a pic of it

So it looks like the answer is no. No need to relocate anything.

depends on the year. I can tell you for a fact that the 99 evo fatboy does require it and you need the relocate kit, even tho the dealer parts book says otherwise. the book/dealer said you only had to move them to the back most holes. wrong! I had to redo mine cause the lock would just hit by a 1/4" on the turn signal. so another trip to the dealer to get the relocate kit. the worst part is that I had to remove the base of the turn signal(my fav. looking part of the bike, the lins reminded me of 50' era cars)

The rear bolt on the 09 Fatboy is really close to the base of the turn signal. My Brother-in-law has a 2000 Springer with detachable backrest. The stud that the backrest clips to looks like a larger diameter than the original bolt. I guess I will just have to buy the backrest set up and see if it works. If not, I will move the directionals.
Thanks for your help.

it is a larger diameter, but its not a bolt. the docking hardware replaces your bolt with a longer one and it slides inside the dock.
