I just picked up my bike from the dealer.Had the 1000 mile service done. They put the Harley syn3 20w50 in all 3 holes. My clutch feel is totally different. It used to be a nice positive engagement, now its almost like it slips. Not when fully engaged, but when you let out the lever taking off or shifting. The cable has about an1/8 inch of freeplay.I guess my question is-did the synthetic oil make it feel that much different?Cause I don't like it.Anyone had this happen?
That is why I like Redline in trans. Drag specialties in primary. You feel a difference when you use redline ,shifts smoother no more whine in 5th. clutch grabs better.Harley says syn 3 in all three holes though so you did right thing. Call service and see what they say. It is warrantied.
Chaz-I think you're right. It engages farther away from the handlebar. So maybe they adjusted it wrong. It felt alot better before.Do you think he adjusted it behind the derby cover or the cable? I will call him in the morning and find out what he did.I didn't really notice it till I was almost home.Dealer is 35 miles away. By the way I love what you are doing to your scoot!
Just readjust it on the cable until it feels right. I rode a friends bike who always takes it to the dealer for service and it was adjusted the same way. Simple to do.
Ok-So the service manual says to loosen the cable.lightly seat the adjusting screw behind the derby cover and back off 1/2 to 1 turn and tighten the locknut. Then adjust the cable to 1/16 to 1/8 freeplay.Well I have that amount of freeplay. So what should I do?

take it back as soon as you can. the person who adjusted it did it wrong.
