Default How do I lower my softail 2 inches or so?

04 FXSTS and it sits up to high.
Is there a less expensive way to do it dog boning it some way or what do I do?

Let all the air out of the tires ;-). Seriously though I had mine done before I ever picked it up, so I'm not much help. I have heard though that some of the "cheaper" ways are not all that good.

You can get shorter springs for the front which is alot cheaper than buying the dog bones. I still need to do mine!

I lowered mine for a grand total of ~$230, which is the Progressive drop-in kit up front, and Ultima adjustable shocks in the rear.

I dropped mine about 1 1/2 in the rear for 30 bucks off eBay. The lowering bolt was a bitch, but well worth it.
