HARD STARTING when warm/hot HELP Please!!!
04 Softail TC88 CV carb.
Tried this in the Engine forum but not to much traffic there and I would like to get this thing running correctly.
Bike is cold, starts good with the enrichener. Bike is warm/hot it may start and most the time it just sits there and cranks forever making me look like a fool for owning it.
Hardly any miles on this bike.
Rejetted bike when new w/stage one. Just rejetted carb 195 and 50.
Bike doest the SAME thing zero change.
Other than the carb where could the problem be??? Electrical...?

Haven't read or looked for much on carbed bikes, mine FI.
Have U tired a search yet, I've seen somewhere, others having this issue.
One thing I remember is dont use the kill switch to shut her down, use the ign switch. may not be the same on non FI.
Has she always done this or just started it?..

Yep, in neutral, no kill switch and searched until I'm going to sell it before I put another 10 hours in searching the internet.
I'm past the easy solutions by this time but thanks, one never knows.

+1, Very seldom do this, but just happened to do it today on our 6hr ride, once today I left her in gear,pulled in the clutch and she turned over 4-5 times before she fired...

I just did a search and found a thread on this problem.
Beerninja on 4-26-09 started one and it has some answers.
theres also over 200 post on the search (hard hot starts)....

Have you tried replacing Plugs, plug wires, Coil??? Have you ckecked the burn on the plugs while riding?
Definatly check all your battery cables,ground,fuses. Die electric grease on all !
Sometimes they make ya want to pull your hair out, but that's also part of makes them so great on the good days. just like our OL's! LOL!

pull the petrol cap and try and start it
if there not breathing properly it will create and vaccum and no fuel will get through

Did the plugs and the S.E plug wires put a new crank sensor on it today as well.
Doesn't change a thing.
Must be getting spark, pulled one of the wires and it started.
Still in the delemma.
