Another day, another question for y'all! I am looking for a pillion to match the Harley Standard Solo Saddle. I have the Harley pillion and am considering having it re-covered but the shape isnt quite right. Any ideas?
All Right!!! Just sent my Pillion and Tank Panel off to Shaun at SOKUSTOM.COM for some of his special treatment! He is a super nice guy and spent considerable time on the phone with me and emailing back and forth to figure out what i wanted!
Standby, I will post some pics when I get it back!
Shaun at SOKUSTOM is the man!!!! I got my stuff back earlier this week and it looks BAD*SS! Shaun spent a lot of time making sure he understood what I wanted and explaining what he could do. When my computer crashed, we stayed in contact by phone.
I wanted to do away with the laced-up look of the stock tank panel and I wanted to have my Pillion redone to more closely match my Classic Harley Solo Seat.
The tank panel is Incredible! I sent Shaun some pics and when I decided to have him redo the seat, just sent him the stock panel to use as a pattern. He noticed that the stock panel did not cover the gap in the tank by the seat so he made the new one a little wider. I wanted my name on the panel but it was going to be too crowded in the area Shaun had to work with. My wife and I were just married in May and the bike was our wedding present to each other so....I suprised her with our wedding date on the panel...never hurts to pick up a few brownie points here and there! The leatherwork is pure art and the fit was perfect!
The pillion was a pebbled vinyl and I wanted smooth leather. The wife did not want to give up any padding so we decided to keep the stock shape. Her main complaint was that the stock seam on the top of the pillion cut into her legs. Shaun was able to move the seam down off the top to make the new version much more comfy! Again, the work is great and the result is just what i was looking for!
As you can see, my bike is a mix of style and function...I feel the crossbones fills this roll very well.
Thanks Shaun! I will be recommending you highly to all my buddies!
