Default Pulled the trigger..

Hi,

Well, I found it, 94 one owner with 23K. Motor/drive is dry as a bone, it has a mild cam and the carb has been redone, runs strong with a nice rumble- (it sings..LOL). The paint is a little bluer than the pics and I only found one tiny chip. All the original stuff comes with it, seat, mirrors, front blinkers & etc. Didn't think I'd like the mini apes and solo seat but it sits nice.

It's gonna need tires soon and possibly different baffles to pass inspection, it's not anoyingly loud but probably a little more then the state likes.

At 6'3" I'm gonna need to extend the foot controls and get straight risers to move the bars foreward and still maintain their rake. I could use suggestions on what to get and where. I'm thinking that if I get 2" Ness extentions and lower the pegs a little I should be OK, 3 inchers really get them hanging out there..What do you think (anyone have any pics of their extensions)?

Thanks
Doug

Nice kill on the Evo bike Doug! That color is cool as heck.

I'm 6" and have the 3" extensions. Its perfect. Get the 3" er's for sure.

You have that Le Pera bare bones seat. Anything else is gonna make you feel real cramped. That seat is sitting you back and down as far as anything on the market and is literally the next step up from throwing a shop rag over the frame rails. I have one as well. Unless you are kinda hardcore you will be replacing it. When you do you will lose about 2" of room, so get the 3" extensions.

I'm a firm believer in E-Bay. Lots of stuff for dirt cheap. Everything you need can be found on E-Bay. You want riisers? E-Bay dirt cheap. You want extension? E-Bay cheap.

Rotate your bars foward a tad in the clamps and adjust the controls counterclockwise afterwards. That will open up the cockpit a good bit and stretch ya' out.

You know what else is cheap on E-Bay? Rear lowering kits. And from the looks of all that sweet off road ready clearence you have there....A set of lowering bolts should be on yer' list as well. Maybe take it down a 1" or so?

Nice kill on the clean bike Doug. Now go make it yours!

Good job. Here is what I think I would do next.

Get those reflectors off.

Slam the back end, that fender sits way too far off the rear tire.

New bullet turn signals.

Spoke rear wheel.

There, that oughta keep ya busy for a while.

Thanks

I didn't notice the sport bike look in the back, I'll bet some of it goes away when I sit my fat butt on it..LOL

I'm haveing a little trouble finding the Ness extensions I want. I went to the ness site and he doesn't have any 3"rs for my year, just new bikes that have the master cylinder mounted on the extension. I'd like to stay with black, anyone know where I can find them? (Or something else)

I also thought about taking the reflectors off but they have been on there 15 years and I'm worried about messing up the paint, plus it might be a slightly different color under the reflectors.

As far as making it mine...the UPS guy is going to know my address by heart by the time I'm done...actually I don't need that much, tires and tube, blinker lenses, extensions, risers, hardware, etc-etc...LOL

Accutronix. Part #541-012 J&P Cycles has em. $154.99. You will need an extended shift rod and brake line as well. Accutronix dosent come with the stuff.

Cycle Visions has a 2" and 3" kit. Comes with everything except the brake line. Look up Dennis Kirk, they are only $114. I am looking at them myself.

EDIT :: Dennis Kirk Part #: H57800 for 2" and Dennis Kirk Part #: H57801 for 3"
