I also thought about taking the reflectors off but they have been on there 15 years and I'm worried about messing up the paint, plus it might be a slightly different color under the reflectors.
I wouldn't worry about that. I took the reflectors off my fatboy fender and the paint was fine. I hit it with a touch of rubbing compound, and then a good coat of wax. Just like new.
+1 on what Chazmanian said about Ebay!! I think all but maybe 3 things on my bike came from either Ebay or here. There are some good parts for sale in the classified section on this Forum. I would estimate I've spent at least 60% less than I would have by taking the time to find the deals in here and on Ebay and the vast majority of what I've bought is OEM.
everybody always got ideas, don't get me wrong feedback helps alot at times. soooo heres my .02 what you really need is full fluid levels,(including gas) next....take a nice long solo trip. clear the head.....go home, sit down and start lookin her over....before you know it......she'll be yours
Great looking ride! Congratulations.
I agree with black&blue. Take her for a nice long ride, sit down with a cold one, look her over and decide which way you want to go.
So many options...
Thanks to all, a nice ride and a cold one(s) is definately in order.
Sounds good Doug.....Tell your wife that story!!
Chaz...That was funny, and a little true!!!
I know I'll need extensions, I've been riding a borrowed 99 all year.
I looked at the two suggestions for extensions, one was for 00-06 bikes and the description of the other said it actually moved things back for shorter folks-but the title said 3" extensions..I'm gonna just call.

I did find this on ebay, anyone ever use something from Bikers choice?
They don't look very beefy and I'd prefer black but the kit comes with an extended master cylinder rod. Pre 99 bikes need a longer rod since the master cylinder does not move foreward with the controls.
I ordered some hard copy catalogues and am planning on calling Ness and JP. Anyone have any other ideas?
Nice scoot man. I have a 92 that i just got about a month ago. I am going through the same problems of where i want to go with it. I know i want to get new bars first and foremost. But i have a ton of ideas just not enough money. LOL. Congrats man.
