you can use one of these and do not need a load equalizer or anything..Once you start putting more LED bulbs on you might need it, but just one of these works fine.
3157 LED Mini Illuminator is what i have..(its RED THOUGH)
For the tail light application there is no need for an equalizer.
Turn signals (red or amber) that use the flasher unit yes, taillights (red run and brake light only) no.

Believe me, your not the first guy that's wished for that. But there are alternatives out there for the older pre 06 bikes. Check J&P Cycles, Custom Chrome, and V-Twin on line catalogs.
I believe one or all of them list a "D" shaped LED and regular incandescent light that will fit the older Bobtail fenders.
Its not 'exactly' the same as the Tri-Bar, but its way better than the stocker in my opinion.
Have fun looking.
PS they are a lot cheaper too.

I like thta and if the Tri-Bar had not been avalable when I was looking to 'fix' the light on my bike. I would have easily gone for something like that.
BTW Where are your turn signals?
In NY it would not pass the yearly inspection set up that way.
It does look nicer without them, but I like being seen.
Some of the idiot cagers around here are blind as bats when it comes to bikes.
So I changed the turn signals to Red LED's and added the run/turn/brake module.
'Mabey' if their not completely blind tehy might think about hitting the brakes when they come on.
