Saddlebag Question
Ok, I have a set of the throw over saddlebags (the ones that are connected together) that came with my Fatboy when I got it. Since I got my new Daytripper seat (which seems to be great so far), the bags don't want to fit anymore. The seat fits so tight on the fender that there is not room to put the bags under it. I might be able to run a longer bolt, and get more room, but then I'll have a gap under the seat. So I'm thinking of getting some of the bags you actually mount to the bike. The hard leather ones I believe. What's everyone's opinion on that, and is there anywhere I can get a set without spending $300-$400?
The hard leather saddlebags for a softail that I have are good for gloves, a wadded up set of rain gear, and a hat mabye. I can't believe that they were made for my Nightrain... but they are in the Harley catalog as the ones that fit. I have also seen others on other bikes, too. They all have this huge cutout as if the swingarm was going to somehow push the tire clear through the fender. Anyway, they look good but they aren't that functional.

Breeze has the right idea. Wait till you can afford something nice like the Boss bags. Willie and Max bags look good but they're synthetic. Hot parts+plastic=disaster. I got mine from a co. called c.c.saddlebags. As I recall, they were about 650.00? Good luck.
