Default replacing speedo

Hey all! I have a 91 FLSTF and need to swap speedo out(trip is broken).

I'm not a mechanic by any means, but is this something I'll be able to do on my own? Just put new one in the same way old one came out? anything crazy I need to know?

Should be a plug and play if you are just changing out the speedo with the same. Have the Dealer calibrate the odometer to the mileage you have on your existing speedo.

Just swapped mine. Dealers wont calibrate the newer versions. Omly the factory. You gotta send it in and wait for weeks. Older EVO ones? Maybe.

Easy install.

pre 96 evo speedos are easy to change

take the dash off (1/2 spanner)

take the lil trip **** off the side if u have 1

on each side off the dash at 3-9 position there are lil C clip under the dash that u have to pull off from underneath, can be a real ****

then u have to unscrew the speedo cable out of bottom

(remove any earth of light from the speedo)

thats all tehre is to it really

sounds good, thanks all!!

I'm just going to hold on to the old speedo and not worry about getting new speedo odometer adjusted. Dealer said it couldn't be done anyway(?)
