Yes, wired to the battery, it comes with fuse. Some people think $60 is a lot for a power outlet, depends on how you look at it, this is a nice piece of chrome.

some peeps like 128AUTO wired under the gas tank (i still cant get enough room). I dont have it on all the time, its more like a quick disconnect on trips when I need power to power up my cell phone or any other device...
I have an '08 Hertitage and wanted to add accessory power to my bike so I could use my XM, GPS and have a charger for my Cell phone. I added a power connection straight to the battery that I ran under the seat and tank that comes out right at the front of the tank. I used the "Battery Tender" type connection for the power lead, and there is alwo a fuse in the power supply. I connected straigt to the battery. Because I wanted to connect several different devices, I decided to use the Ram Mount System to attach the audio devices to the bike. Using the Ram Mount system allows me to purchase several types of mounts, one that I could put my cell phone, another one that holds my GPS and another mount for my XM. By using the battery tender type connection, this lead would also allow me to connect a standard cigarette lighter or even connect to some of the heated clothing (See Powerletproducts.com). I really like this setup since it gives me the option of having nothing on the bike (except the small ram mount ball) or using the power connection for different applications. Since I have an XM Roady receiver, I need to have a 5V power supply, that is mounted behind the headlight and chrome cover and is out of site. You might not need that if you are using a handheld XM radio, but I use the Roady in my house as well, so I needed the XM power supply. I am running the audio through a set of Cycle Sound Amplified Speakers. I can post some picture if you want or just email me and I will send some photos.

I just got one off ebay KURYAKYN Universal POWER POINT should have it by Friday
I might try to run the wires under the leather strip between the seat and gas tank
and under and out the front of the tank! If there is enough room.

I like the look of the Kuryakyn one. I have an 08 Heritage with an optimate charger lead left permanently on the bike. I bought a cigarette lighter attachment that just fits onto this lead and i can blow up the airbeds, charge my phone (with adapters), charge the bluetooth on the 2 helmets etc etc. It cost me Ł12. Aslong as i have a cigarette charger attachment for all the toys i am well away, this will be a lifesaver when i go to Spain in sept.
Found this while I was playing around on evil-bay.
Its only 3" long, but if you can find a place for it under the seat edge.
It should be perfect for anyone who doesn't like putting more junk on their handlebars.
