Anyone use these pegs? I've heard good and bad reviews. I like the idea of some highway pegs without the crash bar. Can you close these on the fly with your foot? Any input would be awesome...
I picked up the Swingwing pegs last month and put them to the test with a ride from Connecticut to Sturgis this month.
The construction feels flimsy. The part that swings out wiggles at the joint and when I put my boots on the extended part, it feels like it will give way. I encountered another rider with the Swingwings at Sturgis and he had the same issue. BTW, you have to manually flip out the extender which is okay by me.
Also, the installation of the wings leaves a gap that the existing spacers don't accomodate. The result is that even when closed up, the Swingwings feel really loose. I've tried a couple washers but I need a special part that will be narrow enough to fill the gap.
Net: I'd find another solution rather than the Swingwings.
