Default "94 Heritage Charging Problem

I have a "94 Heritage Softail Classic that has been giving me a hard time for 3-4 years. It clicks when I hit the start button. A friend of mine tapped on the solenoid while I held down the starting button and it started. So I replaced the starter with a Spyke high performance starter (1.8Kw), and also replaced the battery with a Big Boar high amp. Also changed the spark plugs. It started every time after that for about a week. But after a ride through Rocky Mountain National Park, I parked it in my garage and did not put it on the trickle charger. It wouldn't start the next day. When I put it on the trickle charger, it charged for a while, then started. My bike's charging system doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

You could have a bad stator, my friend was having the same problem on his 94 last weekend. According to the dealership this is a common problem if you have alot of running lights, etc.

Pulled the dash yesterday. What a mess! Connections are corroded. One wire looks like it's been getting hot. When we wiggled the circuit breakers, everything flickered. Voltage meter readings all over the place! Loose 1-2 volts by the time it reaches the starter. One wire connector about to break. Funny thing is, I had the ignition switch changed 2 years ago, appears they didn't check or clean anything, didn't coat/protect the connectors. Gonna have to rewire the whole deal. Haven't checked the stator yet. Had a problem with it coming loose years back, left me hangin' on Summit Pass once! Put a thing on there to hold it in place since, but I will check it. Thanks!
