Slipons?
I am thinking of instaling som V&H slipons on my 2009 S/T deluxe. Do I need to install a fuelpac? Can the stock conputer be remaped? If I choose to do nothing am I taking a chance of burning valves or just discoulering the pipes?? Any help would ...well ..help Thanks ...Gus....
You can put the pipes on and do nothing else. If you change the air too, then you have to get some fuel management. I have the FuelPak on both of my bikes and I'm very happy with it. However, if you're planning on doing any more engine work, then you may need to get something a little more robust. But if all you want is the Stage 1 upgrade...the FuelPak will do just fine.
I installed the Vance and Hines Straight Shot HS Slip-Ons with the quiet baffles and have had no issues. 20,000 miles and still going strong. I will add Stage 1 Air Cleaner and fuel management when finances allow. I did install XiED's. I think they helped cool it some, but not dramatically.
The stock baffles are kind of raspy and metallic sounding on the V&H, but you should hear both set ups before you decide.
