Default HD Beach Bars and Fat Risers

Ok guys,

I went to the dealer and saw a few bikes with the full size HD beach bars. I didn't think they looked comfortable, but after sitting on some of the used bikes that had them, I was surprised. So, with that in mind it looks like I will probably go with those and the HD fat bar risers.

Has anyone had any problems with these and what is the size of those risers 2, 3 inch? Also it states that the risers come with all parts to install, does this include bushings?

Now for those that have that set up (especially for those with a Deluxe) doing the math, it doesn't look like I need to extend the wires or get new cable right away, is that true?

I should place the order sometime this week.

I had HD full beach bars before my apes and since they are 1.25" in the clamping area I had to switch risers... I do not know the risers height but they must be the shortest HD makes because they fit right below the headlamp nacelle's cup. I was happy with the bars quality but I'm 6'3" and leaning forward to grip the beach bars ain't good for my lower back. The riser come with everything you need to swap 'em. The Harley parts book says you'll need stock+1" on your clutch, trot/idle and front brake line, you're ok with you stock wiring. I went with stock+2" but that was because stock+1" was not available at the dealer's...

Good luck,

Mimo.

I know there are better brands, I don't like Chubby because of the wrist position. That has been my biggest problem with other beach bars. I'm 6'2 and I too don't want to reach for the bars. I guess I need a little more pull back then the 4 or 4.5 inches the book says.

Guys,
With more thinking on this I guess I will go with my orginal bar that is 38 inch wide and has 14.5 inch pullback. Now being that I'm 6'2 I wonder which riser to go with, the 1.5 or the 3.5 inch from Wild One? Mimo, you brought up a good point, I don't want to lean forward.

I have a painful lower back brother, so you would want to take that into consideration, I'm glad I could help.

I have 38.5" BB with Chubby Wild1 1.5" risers...im 5' 10" and i lean just a tad foward with my set-up(bars pushed downward). But i also tried them more upwards and then i had no forward lean at all.... IMO... i went for looks not comfort though...

Can you make tight turns with your bars in that angle??? Don't they hit your knees?

Mimo.
