Wtf??
was out for a ride a few weeks ago with some friends. the bike was parked for at least an hour. went to leave, and it wouldnt start. i tried everything, unlocking it with the pin, in and out of gear, clutch in or out. after nearly 30 mins, i pushed it to the other side of the road and to my amazement it started. took to my local H-D service, they siad it was the FOB and replaced the battery in it. the very next day, it acted up the exact same way, but somehow i managed to get it started... just curious if anyone else has had this problem or maybe a solution. thanks.
thanks. beginning of august i rode to creston BC which is about 8hrs. @$$ was killing me halfway through. bought sheep skin 6.5hrs in which helped a lot. gotta say i wish it was more comfortable. however looks will always rule over practicality.
I used to have a similar alarm on my car when I lived in Europe. From time to time at certain gas stations the car wouldn't start. Pushing the car a couple of meters forward would usualy alleviate the problem. Was told this was due to interference of a radio transmitter that would block out the weaker signal of my fob so car would not recognize me.
Might be something like this? People with BMW bikes in Europe have reported similar behavior of their bikes equiped with these kinds of alarms.

make sure your FOB is away from your cell phone too, some report some type of interference being next to cell phones.

I agree that it might be some kind of radio interference, although this is the first I've heard of it with Harley's. It's kind of similar, but when I was stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, the remote for my Firebird would almost never work on base. It worked everywhere else just fine. So it is possible that it's interference. Maybe see what kind of locations it happens in and if there is any commonality such as radio towers, power lines or maybe just gas stations.
