i just scored my Fulmer af40 (1971) from ebay $60 delivered and it is in excellent condition. a little patience pays off.
The only way to get a DOT helmet that looks like the old DOT helmets is to buy an old DOT helmet.
Sizing difference between Fulmer and Biltwell are huge. I already have a V2(silver bobber) and wont wear it because of the size. I can't tell you about the difference between a AF40 compared to a V2. AF40 is 20yrs old and helmets do loose thier duribilty. I could care less about the DOT rating. I wanted something to look decent. IMO of course...

i feel ya man. I got a huge potato head and the large Fulmer fits well. I only bought this to get through the helmet states surrounding me. (Got a trip down to arkansas planned in 2 weeks). If it keeps the 5-0 happy, it makes me happy too.
Is that the midnight black one? The photo on the Bitwell looks site looks like it has a hint of blue in it. Looks kick ***!
Its is the midnight black megaflake. The helmet has a metalic black flake in it which gives it that wierd looking flake. Plus combined with the thick clear coat. Hard to explain...I think the Fulmer shield gives it that added push towards O'l School...

Your lucky Aggro....It sure would be nice to live in a free-state..But here in MO. you gotta make LEO happy. So i gotta do what i gotta do. Even if it meens Biltwell + DOT sticker...The good thing about a Biltwell is that you can't tell it isn't a DOT....fingers crossed....
Nice...Its been cold and chitty here lately and I havent been the active member I once was....I bought a new snowmobile and have essentially stripped the whole sled and I'm modding it as I put it back together.
I do have some new mods to show off tho. And I'll get a shot of my MegaFlake rootbrew.
Biltwell....It dosent matter how you feel inside as long as you look good!!
