I just ordered the Samson True Duels S-430 and a Stage One with Power Command ( Yes I have more money then brains). The dealer is installing these and setting up the map. My question is if I dont like the sound can I use other downloads? and if so has anyone had different sounds from this?

I was told if you use different downloads it changes the fuel/air ratio and creates different "throats". It sounded fishy to me also.

 

Just some thoughts .... The downloads are important to how the bike runs more than how is sounds. Too rich a mixture and the bike will choke down. Too lean a mixture and the bike may pop and crack. Either of these conditions is really not what you want because performance will suffer also. Too rich will carbon up. Too lean will run hot and maybe damge the engine. Get the download that gives the best performance. Then maybe tinker around with baffles etc to adjust the sound. Different pipes/mufflers/air intake etc will require different downloads for good performance so you may have to work at it. I'm sure there are a lot of guys (and gals) who have a better understanding than me on these subjects that can offer some help.

 

Would you consider selling your head pipes & muffler brackets? I rented a Springer Classic a few weeks ago when i was in Spain. I really liked the bike with the bars as the exception. Absolulty hated the stock bars.
