1. Liked the looks of the Heritage better
2. Heritage fit me much better
3. more aftermarket parts for the Heritage
I've got 250 miles on the bike so far and still can say I made the right choice...you can't get much more comfortable than this. I've ridden over some rough roads solo and 2 up and this Heritage just soaks it all up. I've had the bike up to 70 mph and no increase in vibration...after my break in 500 miles I'll take it faster.
I'll have some pictures up after this weekend..taking the bike to the Bluegrass bike fest (http://www.bluegrassbikefest.com) and should have some good pics to post.
Congratualations! It doesn't get buzzy until you hit 90 mph or higher. I've got over 6K miles in about 5 months (daily 80 mile commute) and outside of a clutch and fuel injector warranty repairs am very pleased. I went over 300 miles in a day and, outside of the heat as it was through the desert to Laughlin, felt good - used the throttle holder extender **** seen on this site for breaks. Now have fun with your modifications.
This is a choice which you can't make a bad one. I picked the Heritage because I love leather bags. I think a Heritage is what a bike should look like. Just check out all the metrics which buy aftermarket bags, all leather. They pay $900.00 for Boss bags, which come with the heritage, though are just look alike ones. then pay for Memphis shades or national Cycle windshield, Heritage shield is much better. Love the smooth ride of the Heritage. No shaking with the Twin Cam at idle. But again, many friends have the RK, so it's really a personel choice on what look you like. Remember,it's a Harley, non better. Just wish MOCO put passenger boards on the stock bikes,c'mon, whats a couple hundre xtra????? They save the wifes feet from burnin up. Those stock pegs are so Metric......
ORIGINAL: KY23
I think the Heritage just looks so much better. I'm only 32 years old...I'll wait until my bones can't handle it anymore and then get a touring bike. Looks mean alot ot me and I just prefer the look of the Heritage so much more. It seems to be a much more versatile bike too.
Dude, that's harsh. Well, my 53 year old arthritic bones (knees and hands) don't have any problems on my Heritage Classic. It's very smooth and easy to handle, and my aging body doesn't give me any troubles until I'm parked and walking on terra firma. Cruise control, however, would be a great addition & a huge relief for my knuckles.
