Neighbor buddy down the street, bought his new in 2000, had a choice of TC or EVO, he got and loves his EVO Fatty.
Its stripped off all extra he could get, bolt in cam, and longshots. Only rode with him a few times, but when mine was new (Pre any motor work) and < 1k, while riding once we got on our bikes and he stayed right with me. Hes also about 140#'s lighter than I am.
His EVO does run good and sounds like its going to die any second at Idle..
1999 (early model) Softail Custom bought used w/ 9,500 miles. Evo runs perfectly and easy motor maintenance. My first HD and at age 57 will probably be my last, at least I'm planning on it being my last.
