ebay
I bought some Vance & Hines on Ebay for my wifes Sportster 1200 Custom. They were new in the box and saved about $100. Buy from a seller with good feedback. If they have a couple of negitives read them a lot of the time it is just someone who left negative because they got it first and the seller didn't really deserve it. I would stick to new myself.
I use ebay a lot. Just bought my pipes on there from eastern performance. They were EXTREMELY fast in getting the pipes to me, and they didn't screw around (which is all you can really hope for with an ebay seller). Their price on ebay was the same as on thier website, which was the cheapest I found. No shipping costs. It was a buy-it-now, so there was no bidding war.
When I bid on a regular auction, though, I don't bid early. I come up with a price that's my top dollar. Then I wait till about 30 seconds before the auction ends and I bid that top amount. Ebay's computers will only place my bid one step above the highest bid - not necessarily my top $$. Or I get outbid and at that point how can I complain if I wasn't willing to pay more anyway. That's just my way of making sure my greed factor doesn't get me bidding $80 on an item that I can get for $59 at Walmart just cause some other dope is overbidding.
Check out the feedbacks, too. Some sellers have 99.3% feedback rating, but they sell 3000 items a month and in truth are ****-poor handlers. Also, most of em require the buyer to leave positive feedback before they'll leave feedback. This is bull, but it's their way of getting less negative feedbacks. Good luck.

I agree about the bidding wars causing excessive prices. I have been trying to get some Saddle bags for my Deluxe and everytime it ends up being more than what you could get them new at Zanottis. I did get a good deal on a new high output horn but that was a buy it now option.

Every custom thing that you see on my bike (except the wheels and passing lamps) came from E-bay. Just do your homework first as many have suggested.
Those high-output horns are hard to find on eBay. I've only seen them come up a few times and I always get outbid.[:@]
Stick with people with high feedback...99 or 100%. but if it looks to good to be true, it is. I have purchased about 30 things from ebay in the last year and saved a lot of money. dont buy stuff from overseas, dont wire money, and try to use paypal for a little buyer protection.
