I was prowling eBay & ran accross a new dealer take off Crossboanes seat for $85.
I thought, what the heck, I can fab mounts for that.
Well, it's pretty much a bolt on unit on my 2005 FLSTSCI Springer CLassic.
The Crossbones has a wider fender that is flatter on top. The Springer rear fender struts are taller. I trimmed a little off the battery cover to fit over the struts, I left the pillion on to cover the wide look of the cover sitting over the narrower Springer fender. I'll make a nice metal battery cover sometime but for now I'm really pleased.
It's comfy for my butt but way taller for my riding position. I think I need to add 2+" risers to bring the bars up a little. I've only put 50 miles on it but I'll do a couple hundred tomorrow.
The crossbones seat is fine, my only problem is there isn't much support due to the extra padding I find I have a tenduncy to slide off the back abit so will be changing mine for the thinner Harley one
