I have a 2004 heritage. The handle bars shake from left to right when I let go of the grips. It seems to only happen when the engine is not in a pull. I've checked the tire, the forks for any play, wheel is straight, and it doesn't feel like there is any play as far as the head bearing goes. It's going to the shop on Thursday, just thought I would see if anyone has had the same problem?
yes i have the same problem with my 06 deuce. i have no shake, vibration or anything out of the norm until i let go of the grips on a decel. most guys will say dont let go of the grips, LOL! the dealer rode it this spring and said everything is fine. rim looks good, not bent or out of balance. thinking of taking it to a different dealer when i get it winterized this fall. it bothers me but i have learned to live with it. any help would be great.

Check your PSI in both tires front and rear, Balance BOTH wheels front and rear...
Now whip out the trusty service manual and adjust yer' fall away.
Thats the amount of tension on the headstay bearings.
Do those 3 things properly and your Harley will ride arrow straight and not shake unless you have a bad tire....That would be the last resort. A bad tire can make for a long day. And like milk at the corner store.....they have a shelf life.

Had that problem on my bike and it turned out to be a bad front tire... Good Luck!
I had that issue for about 3 years. I had taken it to the dealer and they checked everything and said it was ok. I took it to a different dealer since I haven't had the steering head bearings checked in a couple of years and since they adjusted it, problem is now gone.
