Hey, I've been reading Hogowner69's thread about whether he got a good deal on his 2010 Heritage Softail. (Price I paid......)
I was offered $1000.00 off msrp because the bike I looked at was a 2009 model and because it was a "demo" with about 300 miles on it.
But they still wanted to tack on $500.00 for dealer prep and $330.00 for shipping.
I still haven't accepted the offer yet because it just doesn't feel right.
The 2010's MSRP's are a $1,000 cheaper. So, no deal there. 2010 Heritage MSRP $16,999, 2009 Heritage MSRP $17,999.
I just bought a 2009 and got the $1,000 off MSRP, $1,000 in accessories and 20% off accessories over the $1,000 and $1,000 over KBB trade in value for my Sporster. Also got the 1,000 mile service for free.
If they make you a better deal be sure to test drive it. Mine has a very loud gear whine in 5th gear. It is very annoying on long trips. Going in for the 1,000 mile service on Thursday. Will let you know what happens with the whine.
They changed the tranny in 2010 and fixed the gear whine. If I could do it again I would pay MSRP for a 2010 model. The $330 for freight is normal. $500 for prep is very high.
All in all, despite the tranny whine, I love the way this bike performs and handles.
