You definitely need to get to the source of the problem first. As far as new tires, I've had the 880s before and really liked them. Plan to replace the Dunlaps with them when the time comes.
Do you firm up your shocks when you ride two up?
Tom
Great point. Hasn't crossed my mind; I'll have to do that, moving forward. Does anyone have ANY idea what HD did with the Dunlop D407F tire? I'm running the stock D407 in the rear, and have a D407F 21" in the front. I CANNOT find the front tire anyplace. It's not in the catalog anymore, and I just spoke to my local parts guy (he's smarter that just what he reads in the book). He can't seem to find any info on it either. I'm stumped.

Ok, here's the update. I called around today, as well as searched online. I got prices locally on Pirelli Night Dragons- $320 for both, plus $55/wheel to mount and balance ($25/wheel if i pull them off myself and bring them in). I could save about $70 if I ordered online, but no one can/will guarantee that I'll have them in time for my trip.
the d408f replaced the d407f for the tour bikes as they put the thread in reverse pattern and said it is an improvement. it is a mid year change. i personally believe it was a fubar
