the "heavy breather" you see on some of the cvo bikes, what happens if you get caught in a downpour with that air filter sitting there exposed like it is?
A "sock" is included that is water resistant. I've used it in rain and ran fine.
school me on this. does this "sock" fit over the filter and then you remove it when it is not raining? i am asking this stuff because a buddy of mine is looking at a cvo fatbob and the question came up. i told him i don't know, but i know where to ask. thanks in advance.
you can keep the sock on all the time, as it is made to work as a prefilter all the time, not just when its raining. I have one for my Big Sucker...a Big Sucker Sock, lol... got mines from http://outerwears.com/proddetail.asp?prod=6689
rain is not an issue when the bike is running, u should worry about covering the intake with a bag or something when ur washing it or it's left in the rain
I've run an open element on my Doherty since March. Washed the bike plenty of times, been caught in the rain plenty of times. I've never had an issue with it.
my big sucker sucks water at higher rpm in heavy rain. dont think that is good for the motor. i got the outerwear cover and it works great. my filter is washable so the car wash if no problem. i just oil it when i get home
