Service Manual
Greetings and salutations. I am looking for a service or owner's manual for a '95 Softtail. Do you know where I could find one or will a current year owner's manual work? I am slowly learning to wrench on my own bike, but I still need a reference guide.
Also, I would like to put together or find a checklist for routine maintenance or safety checks I should go through prior to riding...i.e. parts on the bike which are likely to loosen up due to vibrations, etc.

What you need is:

Owner's Manual
1995 Sportster, Dyna/FXR, Softail and Touring Models
99482-96A

1995-1996 Softail® Models
or Clymers and Haynes have some good service manuals, I bought both...

Beefcake,
A current service manual WILL NOT work for a 1995 Softail. They are two completely different engines. The 95 has a single cam 80 inch EVO engine in it, and the new one's have a twin cam 88 inch engine. The wheel bearings on the new bikes are sealed, and preadjusted for axle end play, the 95 is not. There are other differences but these are two glaring one's that immediately come to mind.
Regards,
Bill
