Well, if it is a harley your riding, they like to keep the buisness, especially if it is the tumbler type.

What model of bike do you have? One of the first things my dealer told me when I picked up my FLSTCI was "Do not to leave the key in the ignition when riding because at some time it will be gone".

I hate to laugh but this is not the first time ive seen this posted, once you have unlocked the ignition, TAKE THE KEY OUT. First time I seen a post like this I thought it was a troll, but appearently this happens alot. Something i guess the salesmen need to cover [sm=interesting.gif]

Yeah you will need your key code and proof of ownership if you have a security system and go to a dealer

I saw a post on here about keys not too long ago and someone said they got even barrel keys made at some hardware store like Ace or someone one like that. Can't remember what the post was about though. I'll see if I can find it...Did a search and there are quite a few threads on the subject.

I don't wish to run this into the ground, but others have already beat me to the answer to your problem. The only time I put my key into the lock is when I am locking or unlocking my bike. Once that is done, I put my key back into my pocket until I need it again. I hope that you have better luck next time with the key issue.
