I installed the HD part #68913-98b on the Lindby engine guard on my 06 FLST. I drilled the guard to hide the wire with first a 1/4" bit for a starter hole then a 3/8" drill bit after taping around the bar. I drilled right where the lamps go so the clamps cover the holes and the wire goes directly in. I then drilled a hole at the top center, underside, of the bar. Using clear nail polish to seal against rusting. I used a heavy guitar string to fish the wires through, it was a snap. After putting the connectors together I used heat shrink on the connectiions to seal and hold them. Heat shrink gun is one of the best things I have invested in. End result very bright, inexpensive and clean installation. They dont interfere with the highway pegs on the bars, or rather "O" rings.
That is what I have been thinking of doing for the last few years, just been dragging my feet.
I have a 2005 SE Fat Boy and the floorboards are 2" longer, then the stock ones, so they wont clear a lot of the aftermarket engine guards.
The reason I want to do it is to make me more visible, during daylight hours, for on coming cagers, that are planning on turning in front of me.
When you install the running lights, low and outboard, they form what is considered to be a highly visible triangle effect with the headlight.

They work great, exceeded my expectations. The housing is very well made. I did the whole thing for $140 through House of Harley on E-bay. The all weather on off switch mounts on a screw on the left hand switch housing. I also wired it to work whether the headlight is on low or high beam. The way they mounted also did not cause me to lose the ability to stretch out my feet.

Any pics of the switch and where they come out of the engine guard?
This is the switch and top of the crash bar where the wires exit. The ole and wire is a little hard to see just to the left of the clutch adjustment dust cover.
