He builds the grip area a little long to make sure it's not too short. I had to cut about 2" off mine. I'd rather it be that way tho. I ran all new internal wiring for new switches and run/turn lights in the mirrors without having to open the bottom hole any. I did have to drill all upper holes, but that was cool as I could put them where I needed. I had to run 9 wires to one side and 10 to the other.
The bars look great!
The top holes are big enough to fit my thumb into...the bottom hole couldnt even take my pinky........hmmm if only the ladies in my life had the same problem...
Glad it all worked out Mike... I know you would get done... Cause when it comes to waiting (LMAO) you're worst then me. The weather looks kinda bad today but if it clears up you wanna ride this weekend (Sunday)? Now get over here and get your fork bag and Chrome visor "thinking it won't stay that way"
Oh yah Bike looks killer... but keep those spikes away from me...
HAHA u bet Mark! I'm down for ridin Sunday. Its pouring here on shafter right now and I have to ride all the way to Ewa to get home...in stop and go traffic...I'm gonna be SOAKED by the time I get home...FML. I might keep the visor chrome cuz I just painted all of my blinkers black and bought chrome visors for them...it looks killer with the contrast so maybe ill just leave the headlight visor chrome too.
I did no cutting of grip area or drilling for the internal wires and I had 18 wires on one side (due to the Throttle by wire) and 12 on the other! Thats around 30 wires total (est.) for a bagger! Granted..it about killed me running all these wires but I did it none the less.
Like stated, probably better to have too much bar than not enough. Maybe my set up was the long version as mine all fit perfect with no gaps.
I had to cut a couple of inches off the ends of my bars too. And the hole on the bottom bar had to be made bigger for all the wiring to come out. The holes on top of bars were big enough.

Chop On,
Robert
In hindsight, I guess that is better than being too short
