2.25 are as high as Rush go and are the loudest. Not recommended without high flow and download. I have 2.0 and they are pretty loud, but good loud. I have heard 1.75 too and they sound good. All depends on the person.
You can just replace the filter with a high-flow filter like a K&N and not pay for the entire housing. Most people replace the whole housing for a different look though. I just installed V&H with quiet baffles on my bike and I'm loving the sound.
no lube or sealant is needed. the stock heat shields fit right on the rush mufflers perfectly and will hide any blueing. Do yourself a favor and go with the 2"baffles they sound great and with the h.d download it will really wake your bike up.

when you say the HD download....do I have to change the mapping that came with the bike....or just leave it alone?
you can just leave it alone if you want but the download will raise your rev. limit and whatever else it changes seems to be sort of a mystery, but what wasnt a mystery was the differance it made in my scoot, like when getting on the interstate. it is a noticable power increase. Im not saying that its as good as a power commander-sest-etc. but it does make a noticeable differance. if you only want sound and sound alone put the mufflers on and go riding.
