Fork stem nut question?
I at one time had a low speed wobble on my 08 Heritage. Stealer took in under warranty and said that the culprit was the nut on the triple tree was lose. Also low front tire pressure. The wobble was gone. Its back now and no more warranty...my question is can I tighten this nut? It looks like a 3/4 size but what would the torque be? Should I do this? My manual shows how to adjust "fall" but not front end wobble. Any help?

This probably won't be much help to you but it's all I've got.
My 08 Softail service manual says to torque the fork stem nut to 70-80 foot pounds. My fork stem nut is a 1.5" nut, not 3/4".
If you have the right socket size, a torque wrench and the right torque settings this is a very easy DIY job.

Yeah I have the socket and a torque wrench, just did not want to wrench it down and it not even turn or something. I may try the turn a bit and ride just to see if that helps.

On my 06 Deluxe there is a Pinch bolt that you have to loosen first before tightening the stem nut. Not sure on an 08 Heritage but the manual should tell ya...
I didn't have a wobble but I had a clunking sound that was fixed once I tightened up the stem nut.

thing U have to take the cover behind the headlight to get to the pinch nuts..

I have a 2000 Fatboy and the manual says" "Tighten the fork stem bolt until the bearings have no noticable shake. Forks sterm must turn freely from side to side" There is no torque spec for my year. Get a manual for the 08 Heritage and to check for certain.
That sounds about right, I don't think that it will take much to tighten it up. I should have time this evening to do so, I will report back on the findings.
Thanks everyone..
