Default Wide tire for Fat Boy

I should be getting my 05 Aniv addition Fat Boy in July.

I was thinking about changing the tire to a 200 - 250 in the rear. I have heard that once you go to a 200 or larger in the rear - the bike does not handle well and is difficult to turn. Is this true? I like the look of a 250 in the rear on a lowered Fat Boy.... I know there is more modifications required than just adding the tire. What is the right way to do it?

Thanks!

talk to the dealer mech, they will tell you not to do it. yes it affects your ride allot. can you even get a 250 in that fender? I was going with the fat tire kit on my 01 fatboy and every where I asked everybody said the same thing not worth it. ( keep in mind that on an 01' fat tire kit goes from a 130 to a 150)

They look awesome, don't they! If you want to get some idea of what they ride like, I'd go to a local Victory dealer and try out a Hammer. They have a 250 rear from the factory. Even though it's not a Harley, it may give you a pretty good idea of the ride/handling...

Good luck and ride safe...
