I'm installing new risers (no pictures yet until the bike is done [should be later this week]) and I have a question...
Flip to page 2-96 in your 2009 Softail manual. If I remove bolt number 8, rigid fork leg stud, will everything be okay or do I need to be careful with the preloaded springer bs? After carefully examining the manual, it looks like the rigid fork leg extends into the upper triple clamp and will still be held in place without the bolt. I plan to just do one riser at a time. Am I good or do I need to do something with the fork legs so that don't go whippin all over the place?
Just to answer the question, I am going to a rigid handlebar mount and getting rid of that rubber bushing crap. Basically, my riser bolt goes from directly underneath the handlebar into the rigid fork leg.
dang my f7 is so fast i couldent even think of modding it cant wait to see it ,i have some pegs coming too, from twist and they look sweet.........pm some pics of the sled so we dont highjack this fork tube handle bar thread.....lol
Bolt removed, no explosions. I was just worried because I knew that the springer front end was under some sort of tension, just not sure where how it all connected.
